Being a Bangalorean, I feel sad to say that I have never visited Cubbon park till date. At Government Aquarium, visitors can see aquatic creatures on display in over 3 floors. The whole park is peppered with fountains, statues, flowering trees and lush greenery.
However, most people know the park as Cubbon Park. Firstly, the park was named Meade’s Park after Sir John Meade in 1870. Initially, the park was spread over 100 acres of area and was later expanded to 300 acres of land. Whether you want a slow walk or a quiet picnic, Cubbon Park is a perfect place where you can get relief from the hustle bustle of the city. The park has beautiful lawns, pretty flower beds and peaceful paths for walking. It also has statues of Mark Cubbon, K Sheshadri Iyer, Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and Sri Chamarajendra Sri Chamarajendra Park Wodeyar inside the park.
Cubbon Park Museum, Attara Kacheri, and Sheshadri Iyer Memorial Park are other sites to see nearby this park. The place serves as an oxygen center with more than 6000 trees. While Cubbon Park is a must-visit, there are several other iconic places in Bangalore worth exploring.
Kempegowda International Airport is the new airport on Bengaluru city’s outskirts, around a one-hour drive from Cubbon Park. M.G. Road, Kasturba Road, Hudson Circle, and Ambedkar Road are the main roads around the park. Iyer Hall, with a rose garden in front, is another historic building, which now houses the State Central Library alias Seshadri Iyer Memorial Library. Historical and aesthetic buildings are a feature of this park.

Beyond the towering trees, the park features specialized botanical zones. The trees are not just for show; they play a critical role in moderating the city’s temperature. The park’s landscape is not just a random collection of trees but a carefully curated environment that has evolved over a century.
With its engaging features and focus on interactivity, students can enhance their understanding of various subjects in an enjoyable way. Ask students what they find enjoyable or challenging about the quizzes, allowing you to refine your approach continuously. Utilize multimedia elements like images and videos to make learning more dynamic.

Sri Chamarajendra Park, more popularly known as Cubbon Park, is one of the largest and most beautiful green spaces in Bangalore. It depends on when you visit! NIMHANS Brain Museum offers a unique educational experience with preserved" human brains and organs, interactive sessions on neuroscience, and insights into brain anatomy. These tours provide deep insights into the history, botany, and architecture of the park. For more official information on conservation, you can visit the Karnataka Horticulture Department official website. There are also ongoing efforts to implement better waste management and rainwater harvesting within the park to ensure its survival for future generations.
